Sign the Financial Sector Statement for an ambitious Global Plastics Treaty

Launched in April 2024, the Finance Sector Statement calling for an end to plastic pollution is supported by 160 financial institutions with $15.5 trillion combined assets. Sign the statement before 20 November 2024 to call for an ambitious UN Global Plastics Treaty and a robust agreement from the perspective of the finance sector.

Collaboration details

The Financial Sector Statement is addressed to member states negotiating the international legally binding instrument to end plastic pollution (also called “UN Global Plastics Treaty”) and sets out what a robust agreement would include from the perspective of the financial sector. As of April 2024, it is endorsed by 160 financial institutions representing over (US) $15.5 trillion in combined assets. 

The statement remains open to receiving support from additional financial institutions in the lead-up to INC-5. Signatures must be submitted by 20 November 2024 to be included in a final announcement on INC-5 Finance Day on 23 November 2024. Sign the statement here.
